Patterns in Year 1

In Numeracy in Year 1, we have been looking at patterns and sequences.

One of our lessons was to create our own patterns. Some of us were given counting cubes and coloured shapes, while the rest of us had to draw our own patterns in our maths books.

It was really fun, especially for the children who used the counting cubes and coloured shapes.

We all hope that you enjoy our work on patterns.

Thank you for reading.

Houses and homes topic walk

Houses and Homes walk
In year 1 we have been looking around our local area looking at different types of houses and homes. We saw lots of different houses including terraced, detached, semi-detached, bungalows and flats.

We all enjoyed looking at the different types of houses, some of us even saw our own houses!! We were very unlucky with the weather and we all got very wet!!!

Year 1 would like to thank all the parents who came along to help us with our walk.

1H's Adventure in our walk around the school

As part of our topic Houses and Homes, we looked at different types of houses. We decided to go for a walk around the school to explore these houses. We learnt as much as we could before going out for our walk, in order for us to identify the different houses and to know what features the houses may have. Our task was to identify some houses from the worksheet we were given.
We enlisted the help of some of our mums, who were brilliant and helped us with our worksheets.

Overall, we had an excellent time and even the rain didn't put us off!!

Thank you
